Hey,

For those of you who don’t know me, I’m Ryan. I’m a computer science student at Queen’s University Belfast and I’m currently on placement year. This website/blog will be a place where I’ll post thoughts, experiment with web design, and have a place where people can download my radio show.

So that’s enough of that. As I said above, I’m currently on placement year, and it’s been a huge amount of fun so far. Thus far I’ve implemented a calendar booking system so that certain groups of students can receive swine flu vaccinations, I’ve designed and written an admin form for the special collections website, and done a couple of other small things. The main thing on my to-do list for the remainder of the year is a complete redesign of the special collections website and back end database, to bring it into the 21st century…and have normalised data!

Outside of work, I’m head of tech for Queen’s Radio, as well as treasurer and webmaster for the QUB Science Fiction and Fantasy society. For two years I was also chair of the Sci-fi society. And I think that’s enough personal information to be shared over the net
